No Snub Here! Funke Akindele Sets Record Straight on Pasuma Viral Video

Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has debunked claims that she ignored Fuji star Wasiu Pasuma at a recent public event, describing a viral clip circulating online as misleading.

The controversy began after a social media user shared an edited video alleging that Akindele snubbed Pasuma during the birthday celebration of actress Fathia Balogun. In the clip, Akindele was seen greeting Balogun while Pasuma sat nearby, sparking speculation among fans.

Reacting to the claims on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Akindele firmly denied the allegation, stating that she had, in fact, acknowledged and interacted warmly with the Fuji icon.

“Snub? Hell no. Stop the negativity pls. I saw him, greeted him, and danced with him. Pasuma is my egbon. Pls you all should stop this,” she wrote.

A longer version of the video from the event appears to support her response, showing Akindele standing close to Pasuma, exchanging pleasantries, and engaging with him before moving on to greet other guests.

The clarification comes weeks after similar speculation trailed Akindele following an incident at the premiere of The Return of Arinzo, where she was also alleged to have ignored fellow actress Toyin Abraham.

With her latest response, Akindele has urged the public to avoid spreading negativity based on incomplete or edited clips.
