Tragedy struck in the affluent neighborhood of Guzape, Abuja, when billionaire businessman Chief Godwin Ademike was reportedly murdered by his biological son during a heated argument at their residence on Number 3 Hassan Adamu Street.

According to sources, the incident occurred after the 22-year-old son confronted his father about his allowance, expressing frustration over what he perceived as insufficient financial support for a lifestyle befitting a billionaire’s son. Reports indicate that the young man compared his father’s generosity unfavorably with that of other wealthy families, claiming that his peers received more substantial financial backing and luxury items.

The confrontation escalated when Chief Ademike, a prominent figure in the electronics import and export industry, accused his son of mismanaging funds from a real estate business entrusted to him. In a fit of rage, the son, who two young women accompanied at the time, allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed his father multiple times.

Emergency services were called, and Chief Ademike was rushed to Karu General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The accused son has since been taken into police custody as investigations continue.

Chief Godwin Ademike was well-known for his extensive property holdings in high-end areas, including Lekki, Maitama, and Guzape. His death marks a shocking turn of events for the business community, as he was regarded as a significant player in the electronics market, particularly at the Alaba International Market.

Authorities are expected to release further details as the investigation unfolds.
