‘We Protected This for Over Two Years’: Adunni Ade Reveals Secret Baby Girl on Birthday

Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has surprised fans by revealing that she privately welcomed a baby girl with her partner more than two years ago, keeping the news away from the public until her birthday celebration.

The actress made the announcement in an emotional post shared on Instagram on Sunday, describing the experience as a deeply personal journey marked by challenges, growth, and gratitude.

“Today, on my birthday, I’m finally sharing what we’ve protected for over two years,” Adunni wrote, adding that the period was filled with “silent battles, moments that tested me, and a strength I had to grow into.”

Explaining why the family chose to keep the birth private, the actress said the decision was made to preserve their peace and enjoy the blessing away from public scrutiny.

“We chose privacy. Not because we owed anyone secrecy but because peace is priceless, and not everything good needs an audience. We wanted to enjoy our blessing,” she stated.

Adunni also addressed societal assumptions about single mothers, stressing that not every personal story should be viewed through the lens of controversy.

“Not every single mother fits your assumptions. Not every story is a scandal. Not every blessing comes with drama attached,” she wrote, describing her daughter as a beautiful gift that arrived in God’s perfect timing.

The actress revealed that the journey to motherhood with her partner spanned nearly a decade before the arrival of their daughter, whom she described as an answered prayer.

“A journey of almost a decade! Almighty blessed us with our first child together. Our baby girl, our answered prayer, my evidence that God still writes beautiful stories in His own time,” she said.

Reflecting on the distinction between her public image and private life, Adunni noted that fans only see a fraction of who she is.

“Adunni Ade online is one thing. Adunni Adewale at home is something you may never fully understand and that’s okay,” she added.

The actress thanked supporters for their goodwill and clarified that “no home was broken” in the process of welcoming her child.

Adunni is already a mother of two sons, D’Marion Young and Ayden Young, from her previous relationship with Michael Boyd. The revelation marks the first time she has publicly acknowledged the birth of her daughter and her growing family.
