Nigeria’s Junior Female Yellow Greens are gearing up for the 2025 ICC Women’s U-19 Cricket World Cup in Malaysia with two key warm-up matches against Pakistan and Scotland during their final training camp in India.

Following preparation phases in Benin City and Lagos, the team will head to India, where they face Pakistan on January 13 and Scotland on January 15.

Both opponents are also World Cup participants, with Pakistan in Group A alongside England, Ireland, and the USA, and Scotland grouped with Australia, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

Nigeria’s campaign begins against Samoa on January 18 at the Borneo Cricket Ground in Malaysia.

They will later face New Zealand on January 20 and South Africa on January 22 in the group stage.

Speaking at the team’s send-off ceremony in Lagos, Nigeria Cricket Federation President Uyi Akpata expressed confidence in the squad.

“These young ladies represent the spirit of cricket. They’ve worked hard, and I believe they’ll deliver,” he said.

Head coach Sarah Bakhita added, “India will help us fine-tune our skills and address weaknesses. The groundwork has already been laid in Nigeria.”

This marks Nigeria’s second-ever appearance at a cricket World Cup, following the men’s U-19 team’s debut in 2019.
