In Mali’s capital, Bamako, heightened tensions have led officials to implement a 72-hour curfew after coordinated assaults on April 25 affected various regions. The curfew, which lasts from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., may be prolonged depending on the evolving situation.

This decision follows a series of attacks that impacted not just Bamako but also Kati and several other locations. Reports indicate that significant sites were targeted, with gunfire and explosions reported throughout the day.

Nationwide security concerns remain high, with several regions already facing similar curfews for months. In Gao, authorities have intensified restrictions, now enforcing a curfew from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Such curfews are uncommon in Bamako and typically indicate serious circumstances. Security forces are actively monitoring compliance as residents navigate this period of uncertainty.
