Ruben Amorim has conceded that he won’t have much time to fix Manchester United’s struggles after his side suffered a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.
Former United forward Anthony Elanga’s early goal sealed a deserved win for Forest, handing United their 13th Premier League loss of the season and leaving them just one defeat away from matching their worst-ever tally in the competition.
Amorim acknowledged the immense pressure of the job, emphasizing the need for rapid improvement.
“At Manchester United, you don’t have time,” Amorim admitted. “We have to get it right fast. The pressure is huge, and conceding early played into Forest’s hands. We controlled the game in the second half, but our final-third play wasn’t good enough.”
United had 24 shots but failed to capitalize, with Alejandro Garnacho particularly wasteful despite his high work rate.
Amorim defended the young Argentine, praising his effort but admitting his decision-making could improve.
With United languishing in 13th place, Amorim faces an uphill task to salvage the season as the pressure continues to mount.
