Al Ain closed their FIFA Club World Cup campaign with a 2-1 comeback win over Wydad at Audi Field in Washington, in the third-ever meeting between Moroccan and Middle Eastern clubs at the tournament.

Both teams were already eliminated before kick-off after losing their first two games.

Wydad struck early when Cassius Mailula fired into the top corner inside five minutes and nearly doubled their lead through Oussama Zemraoui.

Al Ain grew into the game and equalised before half-time, as Kodjo Laba converted a penalty after Adis Jasic was fouled.

The Emirati side completed the turnaround in the second half when Kaku curled a superb shot into the top corner, a goal confirmed after a VAR check.

Laba later missed a golden chance to extend the lead, but Al Ain held firm for the win.

Wydad finish bottom of Group G despite a spirited start to the match.
