Brentford have turned down an improved Manchester United offer worth up to £62.5 million for forward Bryan Mbeumo.
United’s latest bid totals £55 million plus £7.5 million in add-ons for the 25-year-old Cameroon international, following an earlier rejected offer of £45 million plus £10 million in add-ons earlier this month.
Brentford are holding firm on their valuation, with sources indicating they want at least the same fee Wolves received for Matheus Cunha, who joined United for £62.5 million.
Mbeumo enjoyed a standout season in 2023/24, scoring a career-best 20 goals and registering nine assists.
However, any move could be complicated by competition from other clubs, including Tottenham, where new manager Thomas Frank is keen on a reunion, as well as several Champions League sides expressing interest.
The winger, who has a year left on his contract, would also be absent for around four weeks during the 2025-26 season due to Cameroon’s participation in the Africa Cup of Nations, which begins with a group game against Gabon on 24 December.
Since arriving from French side Troyes in 2019, Mbeumo has netted 70 goals in 242 appearances, helping Brentford earn promotion from the Championship to the Premier League in 2021.
