BOLOGNA STUN NAPOLI WITH LATE WIN IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE RACE.
Napoli suffered a major setback in the race for the Champions League
qualification after falling to a dramatic 3-2 defeat against Bologna at the Stadio Diego
Armando Maradona.
Bologna silenced the home crowd early on when Federico Bernardeschi fired a
stunning effort into the top corner before Riccardo Orsolini doubled the visitors’ lead
from the penalty spot.
Napoli responded just before half-time through Giovanni Di Lorenzo, and Alisson
Santos brought the hosts level shortly after the restart to swing momentum in
Antonio Conte’s favour.
However, with the game heading towards a draw, Jonathan Rowe struck a
spectacular stoppage-time winner to hand Bologna all three points.
The defeat leaves Napoli still fighting to secure a Champions League place with two
matches remaining, while Bologna climbed to eighth in the Serie A standings.
