Harry Kane struck twice as Bayern Munich edged Flamengo 4-2 in a pulsating FIFA Club World Cup clash at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, booking a quarter-final date with Paris Saint-Germain.

Vincent Kompany’s side stormed ahead early as Erick Pulgar turned Joshua Kimmich’s corner into his own net, before Kane lashed home a stunning left-footed strike for his 40th goal of the season.

Flamengo, unbeaten in 11 prior games, pulled one back through Gerson’s fierce shot and later closed the gap to 3-2 when Jorginho converted a penalty after Leon Goretzka had restored Bayern’s cushion with a long-range effort.

Kane settled the tie with a composed finish late on, punishing the Brazilians despite Bayern’s patchy display.
