Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany has praised Harry Kane, insisting the striker
continues to improve as the German champions prepare for a blockbuster
Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.
Kane has been in sensational form, scoring 12 goals in 11 Champions League
games and 53 across all competitions this season, underlining his importance to
Bayern’s push for European glory.
Kompany highlighted the evolution in Kane’s game, saying, “He was an incredible
goalscorer… but what we see a lot more now is his distribution, his work rate for the
team, and his game intelligence.
“To combine that with his numbers… it’s not easy. He is ageing like fine wine, and I’m
enjoying seeing that side of his game.”
The two sides are familiar opponents, having shared tight contests in recent
meetings, including Bayern’s 2-1 win in Paris earlier this season.
“You go through each game against them, and it has always been very tight.”
Kompany added. “Luis Enrique said it would be about details, and that has never
been truer.”
With Bayern already crowned Bundesliga champions and PSG chasing another
French title alongside back-to-back Champions League success, the stage is set for
a finely balanced clash.
“There are no miracle solutions,” Kompany admitted. “They are dangerous, but if you
look at our team, we have the same qualities.”
Bayern will be without Serge Gnabry and Raphael Guerreiro, while Jamal Musiala is
expected to start in a high-stakes encounter.
