Dantata To Be Buried On Tuesday

The late elder statesman and business icon, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, will be buried on Tuesday in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by Rabiu Ibrahim, Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on Monday.

The Minister of Defence, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s message of condolence to the family of the late elder statesman in Madinah, ahead of the burial.

The statement read in part, “The demise of Baba Aminu deeply touches President Tinubu. He prays that Allah grants him Aljannah Firdaus and gives the entire family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”

Leading a delegation of top government officials, Abubakar was joined by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; Idris and the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata.

The team, which left Nigeria late Sunday and arrived in Madinah early Monday, was received by Alhaji Mustapha Junaid and other members of the Dantata family, including the deceased’s wives, children, and grandchildren, who expressed gratitude for the Federal Government’s condolence visit.

Alhaji Aminu Dantata passed away on Saturday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, at the age of 94.

In line with his wishes, he will be laid to rest in the holy city of Madinah on Tuesday.

Also present in the delegation were prominent Islamic clerics— Bashir Aliyu Umar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, and Khalifa Abdullahi Muhammad, Imam of the Dantata Mosque in Abuja—who offered prayers for the repose of the late patriarch.

Nigeria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Ibrahim Moddibbo; Consul General, Ambassador Muazam Ibrahim Nayaya; and the Defence Attaché, Major General Adamu Hassan, were also in attendance.
