Chelsea Appoint Rosenior as Head Coach Until 2032
Chelsea have confirmed the appointment of Liam Rosenior as head coach, with the 41-year-old signing a long-term contract that runs until 2032.
Rosenior joins from BlueCo sister club Strasbourg, where he had been in charge since the start of last season, replacing Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge.
“I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed head coach of Chelsea Football Club,” Rosenior said. “This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies, and I am excited by the opportunity ahead.”
Chelsea said the decision to appoint Rosenior was based on his clear footballing identity and high standards.
“Liam has shown that he can build teams with a clear way of playing while setting the highest standards with players on and off the pitch,” the club said in a statement.
The club added that expectations remain high despite a continued focus on development. “While there will continue to be an emphasis on player development, the club’s ambitions remain strong. Liam has the ability to get the best out of this squad quickly.”
Chelsea also stressed that Rosenior has their full backing, saying he joins “with the responsibility and support to ensure Chelsea continues to compete at the top level in all competitions this season and in seasons to come.”
Rosenior becomes the latest head coach to be appointed under the club’s current ownership structure, tasked with delivering results while shaping a competitive long-term project.
