Lamine Yamal and Marc Bernal starred as Barcelona secured a comfortable 3-0 LaLiga
victory over Mallorca at Camp Nou, extending the Catalans’ unbeaten head to head run
against the Islanders to 20 matches.
The contest began at a slow tempo, with Mallorca showing early intent through Vedat
Muriqi and Jan Virgili, while Robert Lewandowski saw little of the ball.
Marcus Rashford went closest for the hosts before Lewandowski later reacted quickest
in the box to fire Barcelona ahead.
Rashford’s free kick was well saved just before the break, and Yamal then missed an
open goal as Barça searched for greater control.
Barcelona increased the pressure after the restart.
A deflection sent Marc Casadó’s effort onto the woodwork, the 23 rd time the Catalans
have struck the frame this season, while Leo Román produced sharp saves to deny
Dani Olmo and Fermín López.
The breakthrough moment for the youngsters arrived on the hour when Yamal drove a
precise strike into the bottom corner to double the lead.
Mallorca’s resistance faded late on, and Bernal capped the performance with a brilliant
solo run and composed finish to end the contest.
The win means Barcelona have now taken all 33 points available from their 11 LaLiga
home fixtures, while Mallorca remain just two points above the drop zone and are now
without an away win in seven matches.
