Galatasaray held firm to secure a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the first leg of their
UEFA Champions League round-of-16 clash in Istanbul.
The Turkish side struck early at Rams Park when Victor Osimhen headed a corner
back across the goal for Mario Lemina to nod past Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Liverpool pushed for an equaliser through Mohamed Salah and Hugo Ekitike, but the
hosts defended resolutely to preserve their advantage.
The result gives Galatasaray a slim lead ahead of the decisive second leg at Anfield.
