EZE, RICE FIRE ARSENAL INTO LAST-8 WITH COMFORTABLE WIN.
Arsenal cruised into the Champions League quarterfinals with a composed victory
over Bayer Leverkusen, powered by goals from Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice.
Level at 1-1 from the first leg, Arsenal took control early and never allowed the
visitors to settle. Eze broke the deadlock with a stunning strike, later saying, “It’s a
special feeling… my first Champions League goal and an important one for the
team.”
Rice sealed the win in the second half with a calm finish, as the Gunners wrapped up
the tie with authority.
Manager Mikel Arteta praised his side’s control, adding, “We managed the game well
and took our moments. The focus now is to keep building.”
Arsenal now face Sporting CP in the quarterfinals after the Portuguese side’s
dramatic comeback, as the Gunners continue their push for European glory.
