REAL MADRID EDGE ALAVES TO KEEP TITLE PRESSURE ON BARCA.
Real Madrid kept their LaLiga title hopes flickering with a 2-1 win over Deportivo
Alavés, closing the gap to leaders Barcelona to six points.
After an early scare, Kylian Mbappé gave Madrid the lead with a deflected strike,
before Vinícius Júnior doubled the advantage with a superb long-range finish early in
the second half.
Madrid pushed for more, with Brahim Díaz denied on the line, but Alaves threatened
late as Toni Martínez hit the woodwork twice before pulling one back in stoppage
time.
The win ends Madrid’s poor April run, though they still trail Barcelona with time
running out, while Alaves remain in deep relegation trouble.
