Lando Norris powered his upgraded McLaren to pole position for the Miami Grand
Prix sprint race, ending Mercedes’ unbeaten qualifying run this season.

The British driver finished 0.222 seconds ahead of championship leader Kimi
Antonelli, while teammate Oscar Piastri completed a strong McLaren showing in
third.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took fourth ahead of four-time world champion Max
Verstappen, while George Russell and Lewis Hamilton finished sixth and seventh
respectively.

Norris praised McLaren’s new upgrade package after the session, with the team
looking sharp throughout qualifying in the Miami heat.

“It was great, a perfect result for us,” Norris said after qualifying. “We’ve got some
new upgrades so it’s nice to feel some grip again.”
