The 2027 Women’s World Cup will be held in Brazil from June 24 to July 25, FIFA announced on Tuesday.

This will be the first time the tournament is hosted in South America.

The 32-team competition will feature the same slot allocations for confederations as the 2023 edition, with 11 teams from UEFA qualifying directly.

AFC will send six teams, while CAF and CONCACAF will each have four.

CONMEBOL will have three, and OFC one. The final three spots will be decided through a playoff tournament.

The tournament will take place across 10 to 12 venues, many of which were used during the 2014 men’s World Cup.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino called it a “historic tournament” that will leave a lasting impact worldwide.

The world football governing body will also confirm hosts for the 2030 and 2034 men’s World Cups on Wednesday, with bids led by Morocco, Spain, Portugal, and Saudi Arabia in focus.
