Spurs Edge Past Man United in a Thrilling Carabao Cup Quarter-Final

Tottenham Hotspur overcame a late surge from Manchester United and their own defensive lapses to secure a dramatic 4-3 victory and a place in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Ange Postecoglou’s side appeared in complete control, leading 3-0 with just under 30 minutes remaining, only for two costly errors from goalkeeper Fraser Forster to invite a spirited United comeback.

Dominic Solanke opened the scoring in the 15th minute, capitalizing on a mistake by United keeper Altay Bayindir. Spurs dominated the first half, but the real drama unfolded after the break.

Dejan Kulusevski struck seconds into the second half with a thunderous finish, and Solanke added his second in the 54th minute, seemingly putting the game beyond reach.

However, Forster’s miscues turned the match on its head. First, his errant pass was intercepted by Bruno Fernandes, setting up Joshua Zirkzee for an easy goal.

Moments later, hesitation and a poor touch from Forster allowed Amad Diallo to capitalize, cutting Spurs’ lead to 3-2.

With tension mounting, Son Heung-min restored calm in the 88th minute, his corner inexplicably curling directly into the net past Bayindir.

Even then, United refused to fold, with Jonny Evans heading in a late goal deep into injury time after yet another Forster error.

Despite the nervy finish, Spurs held on to progress to the semi-final where they will face Liverpool, while United’s cup run came to an end in a pulsating encounter.
