Super Eagles Draw 0-0 with Ghana in CHAN 2024 Qualifier

December 23, 2024

The home-based Super Eagles played out a goalless draw with Ghana’s Black Galaxies in the first leg of their 2024 African Nations Championship qualifier in Accra on Sunday.

Ghana dominated the first half but couldn’t break down the Nigerian defense, with Stephen Amankwoo coming closest in the 15th minute, his shot just wide.

Nigeria grew into the game in the second half, and Sikiru Alimi struck the woodwork with a potential opener.

The two teams will face off again in the return leg at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, with the aggregate winner securing a spot in CHAN 2024, co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
