Algerian side Belouizdad made history with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League on Friday, ending the latter’s 27-match unbeaten run.
Noufel Khacef scored in the first minute of stoppage time to secure the win, marking Belouizdad’s first-ever triumph over Al Ahly in their six encounters.
The match remained tense throughout, with Belouizdad increasing the pressure in the second half.
Khacef pounced on a rebound after a save by Al Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy, sending the home crowd into celebration.
Despite a late push from Al Ahly, the result leaves them on seven points, with Belouizdad moving into second place in Group C with six points.
