Umar Sadiq Targets Fresh Start at Valencia Ahead of La Liga Debut

Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq is looking to reignite his career at Valencia as he prepares for his La Liga debut against Sevilla on Saturday.

Sadiq, 27, joined Valencia on loan from Real Sociedad last week and made an impressive first appearance during their 2-0 Copa del Rey victory over Eldense on Tuesday.

In his 32-minute cameo, Sadiq delivered two shots on target and recorded a 100% success rate in tackles and aerial duels, earning praise from manager Carlos Corberán.

“From day one, Sadiq has shown the right attitude and commitment needed to play for Valencia CF,” Corberán said.

Sadiq expressed his determination to make an impact at the club, saying, “I needed a game like this.

I want to build on it because I haven’t scored in a year, and I aim to change that to become an important player for Valencia.”

Valencia secured Sadiq on a €1 million loan deal, with an option to make the move permanent for under €10 million.

The club is banking on him to boost their attack, which has struggled with just 17 goals in 18 league matches this season.

The move to Valencia marks Sadiq’s 12th club in 11 years, following a challenging stint at Real Sociedad where he made only six appearances this season.

The striker hopes to help 19th-placed Valencia escape the relegation zone as they face a tough test against 14th-placed Sevilla.
