Coco Gauff remains optimistic after her Australian Open journey ended in the quarter-finals with a 7-5, 6-4 loss to Spain’s Paula Badosa on Tuesday.
The world number three saw her impressive nine-match winning streak in 2025 come to an end, but despite the setback, she expressed pride in her effort and growth in handling defeats.
“Even though it wasn’t my best performance, I gave my all on the court, and that’s something to be proud of,” said the 2023 US Open champion.
Reflecting on her development, Gauff noted she is now better equipped to manage losses without feeling overwhelmed, a stark contrast to how she might have reacted earlier in her career.
She acknowledged areas for improvement, citing unforced errors and double faults as factors in the defeat but emphasized her belief in continued progress.
Gauff is determined to move forward, stating that despite the disappointment, she feels she is on the right path and will return to training with renewed focus.
