Hakimi Brace Fires PSG Past Lyon to Extend Ligue 1 Lead

February 24, 2025
Hakimi

Achraf Hakimi struck twice as Paris Saint-Germain edged Lyon 3-2 at the Groupama Stadium on Sunday, stretching their Ligue 1 lead to 13 points and ending Lyon’s seven-match home unbeaten streak.

After a sluggish first half, PSG came alive early in the second. Hakimi opened the scoring in the 53rd minute, before Ousmane Dembélé doubled the advantage with a brilliant solo effort.

Lyon pulled one back through Rayan Cherki, but Hakimi quickly restored PSG’s cushion with another precise finish.

Corentin Tolisso’s late header set up a nervy finale, but PSG held firm to claim another crucial victory.

Lyon remain sixth, seven points off the final Champions League spot, while PSG tighten their grip on the title race.
