KNICKS EDGE SPURS TO TAKE COMMANDING 2-0 NBA FINALS LEAD.
The New York Knicks moved within touching distance of a first NBA title in decades
after edging the San Antonio Spurs 105-104 in a dramatic Game 2 to take a 2-0 lead
in the Finals.
San Antonio looked poised to level the series after strong performances from
De’Aaron Fox and Victor Wembanyama, while a late 14-0 run erased a double-digit
deficit and set up a tense finish.
However, Jalen Brunson calmly split a pair of free throws in the closing seconds
before Wembanyama missed the potential game-winning shot at the buzzer, handing
New York a priceless road victory.
The Knicks now head back to Madison Square Garden with all the momentum and
knowing no team has ever recovered from losing the first two NBA Finals games at
home to win the championship.
