WEMBANYAMA INSPIRES SPURS TO PLAYOFF WIN OVER TIMBERWOLVES.
Victor Wembanyama delivered a dominant display as the San Antonio Spurs
defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 115-108 on Friday to take a 2-1 lead in their
NBA playoff series.
The French star produced 39 points, 15 rebounds, and five blocks in Minneapolis,
taking control with a sensational fourth quarter that included 16 points.
“I’m built for this. I love this more than anything else,” Wembanyama said after
another standout postseason performance.
Minnesota fought hard behind Anthony Edwards, who returned to the starting lineup
and finished with 32 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists, but the Timberwolves were
unable to contain Wembanyama late on.
The game grew heated after the break, with multiple players involved in
confrontations, but the Spurs kept their composure as Wembanyama sealed victory
with two late three-pointers.
“Greatness,” teammate De’Aaron Fox said of Wembanyama’s display. “He comes
out here and he produces.”
