Cesc Fabregas has been linked with the head coach position at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, according to reports in Germany.

The former Spain international, currently managing Serie A club Como 1907, is reportedly being considered as a potential long-term successor to Marco Rose, whose future at the club remains uncertain.

Interim boss Zsolt Low has already indicated he’s not interested in taking the role permanently.

Fabregas’ name has surfaced thanks in part to his strong ties with Thierry Henry, who maintains a close relationship with RB Leipzig supervisory board chairman Oliver Mintzlaff.

The 36-year-old has been steadily building his managerial credentials since taking charge at Como.

Leipzig’s shortlist continues to grow, with the likes of Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, Sheffield Wednesday’s Danny Rohl, St. Pauli’s Alexander Blessin, free agent Roger Schmidt, and Matthias Jaissle, currently coaching in Saudi Arabia, all reportedly under consideration.

Fabregas enjoyed an illustrious playing career with clubs like Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, and Monaco, and now seems poised for a potential step up in the managerial ranks.
