Crystal Palace FC manager Oliver Glasner signed off in perfect fashion after guiding
the club to their first-ever European trophy with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Rayo
Vallecano in the UEFA Conference League final.

Jean-Philippe Mateta scored the decisive goal early in the second half, finishing from
close range after Augusto Batalla spilled Adam Wharton’s effort.

Palace created several more chances through Ismaila Sarr and Yéremy Pino but
were forced to survive late pressure from Rayo before sealing a historic triumph in
Leipzig.

The Conference League success adds to the FA Cup and Community Shield
trophies Glasner already delivered during his remarkable spell in charge of the
Eagles.
