The Dallas Mavericks kept their postseason dream alive with a commanding 120-106 win over the Sacramento Kings on the road, eliminating the hosts from contention.

Anthony Davis and Klay Thompson led the charge for Dallas, combining for 50 points in a performance that stunned the Sacramento crowd.

Davis, acquired from the Lakers in a midseason trade, notched 27 points and nine rebounds, while Thompson chipped in 23 against his former Northern California rivals.

The Mavericks, who barely squeezed into the play-in tournament as the West’s 10th seed, blew the game open with a 44-19 second quarter and never looked back.

“We have nothing to lose,” Thompson said after the game. “Play free-minded, play for each other, that’s when we’re at our best.”

Next up for Dallas is a showdown with the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. The winner will earn a spot in the first round against top-seeded Oklahoma City.
