The Flying Eagles of Nigeria are poised to face Kenya today in their final Group B match at the ongoing 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The encounter, scheduled for 4:00 PM Nigerian time at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo, holds significant implications for Nigeria’s progression in the tournament.

Currently, Nigeria sits second in Group B with four points, equal with Morocco but trailing on goal difference.

The team secured a 1-0 victory over Tunisia in their opening match and played to a goalless draw against Morocco in their second outing. Kenya, on the other hand, has yet to earn a point, having suffered defeats to both Morocco and Tunisia.

A win against Kenya would guarantee Nigeria a spot in the quarter-finals, while a draw could suffice depending on the outcome of the simultaneous match between Morocco and Tunisia.

The Flying Eagles are determined to avoid leaving their fate to chance.

Captain Daniel Bameyi emphasized the team’s commitment to securing a victory, highlighting their focus and determination to top the group.

He acknowledged the support from fans and urged continued encouragement as the team strives to advance in the competition.

Nigeria aims to commemorate their 100th match in the U-20 AFCON with a strong performance, reinforcing their status as the most successful team in the tournament’s history, having clinched the title seven times.
