Fiorentina have reappointed Stefano Pioli as their new head coach on a three-year deal, marking his return to the club after six years.

The 58-year-old, who left Al-Nassr last month, takes over from Raffaele Palladino, who surprisingly exited just three weeks after signing a contract extension in May.

Pioli, a former Fiorentina defender, previously managed the Viola from 2017 to 2019 before moving to AC Milan, where he won the Serie A title in 2021–22.

Club president Rocco Commisso said Pioli brings “great human values” and a deep connection with the city, having both played and coached there in the past.

Fiorentina, who finished sixth last season to earn a spot in the Conference League, become the latest Serie A club to change managers ahead of the 2025–26 campaign, joining Inter, AC Milan, Roma, Atalanta and Lazio.
