Nigeria’s D’Tigress kept their decade-long unbeaten streak alive, edging Senegal 75-68 in a tense semifinal to reach the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket final in Abidjan.
The six-time African champions, riding a 27-game winning run coming in, faced a fierce test from former coach Otis Hughley’s Senegal.
Nigeria led 43-37 at halftime but faltered in the third quarter, outscored 21-9, before storming back in the final 10 minutes to seal victory.
Ezinne Kalu led the fightback with 19 points and six rebounds, Promise Amukamara added 16 points, while Amy Okonkwo and Victoria Macaulay chipped in 15 and 13 points respectively.
Cierra Dillard’s 26 points for Senegal proved insufficient as D’Tigress rallied late to reach a fifth straight AfroBasket final.
The win stretches Nigeria’s unbeaten run to 28 games and keeps alive their pursuit of a record fifth consecutive continental crown and seventh overall, with the title decider set for Sunday.
