Lando Norris strengthened his grip on the Formula 1 world championship with a superb victory at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, finishing ahead of Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli, while Max Verstappen produced a stunning comeback from a pit-lane start to take third.

Norris led comfortably from pole, controlling a chaotic race marked by early crashes and penalties.

Antonelli impressed with a composed drive to second, holding off Verstappen, who charged through the field despite suffering a puncture.

It was Norris’s seventh win of the season and 11th overall, extending his championship lead to 24 points over McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri, who finished fifth after serving a 10-second penalty.

George Russell came fourth, with Haas rookie Oliver Bearman and Racing Bulls duo Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar also finishing in the points.

Norris dedicated the win to his late mentor Gil de Ferran, calling it “a perfect weekend.” Verstappen hailed his podium as “an incredible result to be proud of,” after a storming recovery drive.

With three races remaining, Norris leads on 390 points, ahead of Piastri (366) and Verstappen (341), as the title race heads toward a thrilling finale.
