Glasner Blasts Palace Hierarchy After Sunderland Defeat

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner launched a furious attack on the club’s hierarchy after
Saturday’s 2-1 Premier League defeat at Sunderland, claiming his squad has been “abandoned
completely”.
The Austrian, who guided Palace to an FA Cup triumph last season, spoke amid confirmation
that captain Marc Guehi is set to join Manchester City. Glasner said the timing of the move,
coming a day before the match, was impossible to accept.
“We have 12, 13 players available and we feel no support,” he said. “The worst thing is selling
our captain one day before a Premier League game. I have no understanding of this.”
Defending his players, he added: “I can’t blame them. They did everything they could. My job is
to protect them.”
Despite his frustration, Glasner ruled out walking away early, insisting: “I will go with this group
of players until the end.”
