RICHARLISON RESCUES SPURS AS TUDOR HAILS ‘AMAZING’ TEAM SPIRIT.
Richarlison struck in the 90th minute as Tottenham held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at
Anfield, ending a club-record run of six straight defeats and boosting their Premier
League survival hopes.
The late goal leaves Spurs one point clear of relegation rivals Nottingham Forest and
West Ham.
Interim boss Igor Tudor praised the resilience of his depleted squad after the result.
“The team spirit was amazing. This was the main demand. The quality is there,” said
the Croatian. “We hope today is a turning point.”
Tudor was missing a dozen first-team players and was forced to hand minutes to
teenagers Callum Olusesi and James Rowswell.
“It is an amazing, incredible point we take here, and deserving,” he added. “The
moment is really strange and even more challenging to show who we are. The
players were really amazing.”
Liverpool boss Arne Slot admitted frustration after his side missed the chance to
climb into the top four.
“Again in the last minute, again after an opportunity to score ourselves, and again we
leave the pitch with a disappointing result,” Slot said.
“They have experienced this far too many times… it is completely normal that they
show their frustration.”
