WEMBANYAMA INSPIRES SPURS TO FORCE WESTERN CONFERENCE GAME SEVEN.
The San Antonio Spurs kept their NBA Finals hopes alive after crushing the Oklahoma
City Thunder 118-91 to level the Western Conference finals series at 3-3.
Victor Wembanyama starred with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks as the
Spurs dominated from start to finish in a must-win clash in San Antonio.
Dylan Harper added 18 points off the bench, while the Spurs’ aggressive defence
frustrated reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who struggled to make an impact
after his 32-point display in Game Five.
San Antonio exploded with eight three-pointers in the opening quarter before a
stunning 20-0 run in the third period completely put the game beyond Oklahoma City.
“We ain’t done nothing yet,” Wembanyama said after the victory. “When your back’s
against the wall, it feels like it’s the best opportunity.”
Spurs coach Mitch Johnson praised his side’s response under pressure and vowed
they would be ready for the decisive Game Seven in Oklahoma City on Saturday.
The winners will advance to the NBA Finals to face the in-form New York Knicks.
