POCHETTINO IN TALKS TO BECOME NEW AC MILAN MANAGER.
Mauricio Pochettino has held initial talks with AC Milan over becoming the club’s
next manager following the departure of Massimiliano Allegri.
The 54-year-old is currently focused on leading the United States men’s national
soccer team at the 2026 World Cup, but his contract expires after the tournament
and Milan are keen on bringing him back to club football.
Pochettino has been without a club since leaving Chelsea FC after the 2023/24
season, having previously managed Paris Saint-Germain FC and Tottenham Hotspur
FC, where he guided Spurs to the 2019 Champions League final.
Milan is searching for a new direction after sacking Allegri earlier this week
following a disappointing campaign that ended with the club missing out on
Champions League qualification for the second straight season.
The Rossoneri finished fifth in Serie A despite spending much of the campaign in the
top two, with the club hierarchy later describing the season as an “unequivocal
failure.”
Meanwhile, Allegri has already returned to management after being appointed head
coach of SSC Napoli ahead of next season, following the departure of the title-winning
coach Antonio Conte.
