Mauricio Pochettino believes the United States can continue improving ahead of the
FIFA World Cup after Sunday’s morale-boosting 3-2 victory over Senegal.

The US coach said the result was important for restoring confidence following recent
defeats to Portugal and Belgium, while also highlighting the commitment and quality
within his squad.

“We have attitude, commitment, and players with enormous talent,” Pochettino said.
Christian Pulisic was among the standout performers, ending his goal drought with a
goal and an assist, earning praise from his manager.
“I’m so happy for him because after a long time, he scored again,” Pochettino said.

The former Chelsea and PSG boss also stressed that the team’s progress depends
more on their own mentality than the strength of their opponents, as they prepare to
face Germany in another friendly.

“In different games, we were the problem,” he admitted. “Today, we showed the right
commitment and attitude.”

With the World Cup fast approaching, Pochettino believes the victory over Senegal is
another step forward for the USA side, aiming to make an impact on home soil.
