Luis Enrique has expressed his delight at signing a two-year contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain, emphasizing his ambition to make history with the French giants.
The Spaniard, who took charge in 2023, credited the club’s unwavering support for his decision to stay, stating, “From day one, PSG has given us everything we need. Their trust motivates me to keep working and improving. We want to leave our mark here.”
Following PSG’s commanding 4-1 victory over Monaco on Friday, Enrique dismissed suggestions that it was their best performance of the season, citing lapses in the closing stages.
“The first half was tough, and we struggled to press them. We improved in the second half, but I wasn’t happy with the last 10-15 minutes,” he admitted.
With a 13-point lead at the top of Ligue 1, PSG now shifts focus to Tuesday’s Champions League knockout playoff against Brest. Despite a shaky group-stage campaign, Enrique believes the challenges have strengthened his young squad.
“We’ve faced tough moments, but they have made us more mature. Our goal is to fight until the last minute of every competition to make history,” he declared.
