Carlos Alcaraz could meet Novak Djokovic in a high-stakes quarter-final as he aims for a rare Indian Wells three-peat, according to Monday’s draw.

Djokovic, who defeated Alcaraz en route to the Australian Open semi-finals, is chasing his 100th career singles title when play begins on Wednesday.

The Serbian star, granted a first-round bye, could face either a qualifier or Nick Kyrgios in his opener.

Meanwhile, top seed Alexander Zverev and Greek rival Stefanos Tsitsipas may clash in the quarter-finals, while Taylor Fritz could take on Andrey Rublev at the same stage.

In the women’s draw, defending champion Iga Swiatek could face Zheng Qinwen in the quarter-finals, months after the Chinese star eliminated her from the Olympic semi-finals.

Top seed Aryna Sabalenka will look to regain form, with Jasmine Paolini potentially blocking her path to the semis.

An all-American quarter-final between Coco Gauff and Australian Open champion Madison Keys is also on the cards, as they both seek to end a 24-year U.S. women’s title drought at Indian Wells.
