AMUSAN STORMS TO GOLD AND MEETS RECORD IN NEW TAIPEI 100MHURDLES WIN.
World record holder Tobi Amusan continued her impressive 2026 form with gold and
a new meet record in the women’s 100m hurdles at the New Taipei Athletics Open in
Taiwan.
The Nigerian powered to victory in 12.72 seconds into a slight headwind, finishing
well clear of Bo Ya Zhang of Chinese Taipei, who took silver in 13.17 seconds.
It was a controlled and dominant display from start to finish, as Amusan once again
underlined her consistency at the top level and broke the previous meet record in the
process.
The win adds to a strong season for the 29-year-old, who has already picked up
Diamond League victories in Rabat and multiple podium finishes in Shanghai and
Xiamen, staying firmly among the world’s best hurdlers.
Amusan, whose benchmark of 12.12 seconds remains the fastest in history,
continues to build momentum ahead of the Diamond League finale later this season.
