Jalen Brunson scored 38 points as the New York Knicks produced a remarkable
comeback to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 115-104 in overtime in Game 1 of the
NBA Eastern Conference finals.

The Knicks trailed by 22 points in the fourth quarter and were given just a 0.1%
chance of winning, but Brunson inspired a dramatic turnaround with an 18-1 run
before tying the game at 101-101 with 19.3 seconds left in regulation.

Cleveland failed to respond as Sam Merrill missed a late three-pointer, sending the
contest into overtime, where New York dominated by scoring the first nine points.

Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers with 29 points, while James Harden added 15 in
defeat.

The victory marked the biggest playoff comeback in Knicks history and gave New
York leads 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series ahead of Game 2 on Thursday.
