Former Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has issued an emotional farewell message
following his departure from Anfield, insisting the club remains firmly “among
Europe’s elite, despite a turbulent end to his reign.

The Dutchman was dismissed after just one season in charge, following a fifth-place
Premier League finish, a stark drop-off after guiding Liverpool to the title in his debut
campaign.

In an open letter, Slot reflected on his short but eventful spell at the club, thanking
supporters and players for their backing during both triumph and adversity.

“I leave with complete confidence in what lies ahead,” Slot wrote. “The players have
built foundations that will endure.”

Despite the disappointment of his exit, the 47-year-old highlighted Champions
League qualification is a key achievement in a difficult season.

He also praised the bond he formed with Liverpool supporters, describing lifting the
Premier League trophy in front of fans as a career-defining moment.

Slot paid tribute to the unity shown during emotional periods, including the passing of
Diogo Jota, calling the response from supporters “extraordinary” and a reflection of
the club’s deep connection with its people.

Liverpool’s 20 th league title belongs to all of us,” he added. “Change is part of
football, but this club will continue to make its people proud.”
