ONUACHU’S HEROICS HAND TRABZONSPOR TURKISH CUP.

Trabzonspor lifted the Turkish Cup after a tense 2-1 win over Konyaspor, with
Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu delivering a match-winning brace in the final.

Onuachu struck early to give Trabzonspor control before Konyaspor hit back in the
second half through Jackson Muleka, setting up a nervy finish in Antalya.

The decisive moment came late on when Onuachu calmly converted from the
penalty spot to restore Trabzonspor’s lead and seal the trophy.

“I stayed focused because we knew how important this was,” Onuachu said after the
match.

The win also marks a first major honour for coach Fatih Tekke, while Nigerian
defender Chibuike Nwaiwu featured in the triumph.

Veteran forward Anthony Nwakaeme also made his final appearance for the club as
Trabzonspor capped their season with silverware and a return to European football.
