SIX SUPER EAGLES PLAYERS DOUBTFUL FOR ZIMBABWE CLASH.
Nigeria’s national men’s football team could be without captain Wilfred Ndidi, Moses
Simon and Akor Adams for their 2026 Unity Cup semi-final against Zimbabwe at The
Valley in London on Tuesday.
Bruno Onyemaechi, Raphael Onyedika, and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro are also doubtful,
bringing the total number of potential absentees to six after the players arrived late to
camp.
As of Monday evening, only 20 players were available for selection as coach Éric
Chelle continued preparations for the title defence, with Samson Tijani’s late arrival
boosting the squad count after a six-year absence from the national team.
Nigeria opens its campaign against Zimbabwe, while Jamaica faces India in the
other semi-final. The winners will meet in the final on May 30 at Charlton Athletic’s
stadium.
Recent meetings between Nigeria and Zimbabwe have ended in 1-1 draws, while
both sides come into the clash in mixed but competitive form.
