Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has threatened to reveal the identities of politicians he claims are behind the abduction of students in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Igboho made the remarks on Wednesday while receiving newly elected executives of the National Association of Nigerian Students led by Akinteye Babatunde at his residence in the Soka area of Ibadan.

In a video that has since circulated widely online, the activist alleged that he possessed information about individuals connected to the abductions and warned that he could make their identities public.

Igboho also claimed that he had volunteered to help dislodge the bandits responsible for the kidnappings but was allegedly resisted by the state government.

According to him, he was prepared to assist in efforts to rescue the victims but encountered opposition from authorities.

The activist further dismissed claims that he had requested money from the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde in connection with efforts to secure the release of the abducted students and teachers.

He insisted that he had never demanded any payment from the state government to participate in rescue operations involving the 47 victims reportedly taken by the kidnappers.

The comments come amid heightened concern over the mass abduction of pupils and teachers from schools in Oriire Local Government Area and ongoing efforts by security agencies to secure their release.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Oyo State Government nor security agencies had officially responded to Igboho’s allegations.
