Liverpool has confirmed the appointment of Andoni Iraola as their new head coach
following the dismissal of Arne Slot.

The Spaniard has signed a two-year contract at Anfield after leaving Bournemouth,
where he enjoyed a remarkable spell and guided the Cherries to European football
for the first time in their history.

Iraola replaces Slot, who was sacked just a year after leading Liverpool to the
Premier League title.

“Really excited,” Iraola said after his appointment. Liverpool is one of the biggest
clubs in the world. The chance to coach top-level players and fight for titles makes
this a very attractive opportunity.”

The 44-year-old earned widespread praise for his high-intensity, attacking style of
football during his time at Bournemouth, a philosophy that many believe aligns with
Liverpool’s traditional identity.

Iraola now faces the challenge of rebuilding a side that finished fifth last season
while adapting to life without long-time talisman Mohamed Salah.

The move represents the biggest test of Iraola’s managerial career as he takes
charge of one of the world’s most demanding football jobs.
