The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Jamaica 5-4 on penalties after a 2-2 draw at Brentford Community Stadium in London on Saturday, securing the Unity Cup title.

Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze each scored for Nigeria, while Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz battled back to force the shootout.

This victory marks Nigeria’s second Unity Cup win since the tournament’s inaugural edition in 2004.

It also highlights coach Eric Chelle’s strong start, with three wins in four matches since taking charge.

The 2025 Unity Cup, held from May 27 to 31, brought together Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago to celebrate cultural heritage and football.

This year’s tournament marked its return after a 21-year hiatus, emphasizing the event’s role in fostering unity among African and Caribbean communities in the UK.
