Ademola Lookman’s standoff with Atalanta has escalated after the Nigerian forward skipped training for a second consecutive day and cleared out his locker at the club’s Zingonia base.
The 27-year-old Super Eagles forward has formally requested a transfer to Inter Milan, frustrated by Atalanta’s refusal to accept two bids from the Nerazzurri.
Lookman accused the club of “broken promises” and poor treatment in a lengthy Instagram post, expressing his desire to leave this summer.
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi admitted there is an informal agreement to sell the reigning African Player of the Year for the right fee but ruled out moves to other Serie A sides, complicating Inter’s pursuit.
Reports in Italy describe the situation as a “total break-up,” with Lookman continuing his training boycott in an attempt to force a resolution.
